We are looking for a talented Process Development Engineer to join our R&D team. You will be working to develop microbial fermentation processes, including downstream process development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate hired for this position is expected to:
- Design and conduct experiments over a range of scales (mL through a few hundred liters) to optimize process conditions for product candidates in various stages of development.
- Participate in cross-functional teams (strain development, analytical chemistry) and collaborate on multiple projects to support development of selected microbial fermentation processes.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and other materials for bench-scale fermentation and DSP.
- Maintain clear and accurate lab notebooks and author technical reports.
- Regularly present work and findings during group meetings.

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on team-player with excellent problem-solving skills and good understanding of bioprocesses. Versatility is a must, as tasks will involve a range of reactors and scales and process modes. The ideal candidate will have the following background/skill set:
- B.S, M.S. or Ph.D. in Bio/Chemical Engineering.
- Hands-on working knowledge with laboratory and pilot scale process equipment, strong hands-on experiences with bioreactors for microbial culture and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of bioprocess development (cell-free, microbial, and/or mammalian cell-based) and fermentation processes.
- Strong organization skills in experiment recording and data summary with strong attention to details.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively in a team environment.
