The Role
CAULIPOWER is looking for an experienced Packaging Designerto develop creative and cost-effective packaging designs for our products. As a packaging designer, you will work to develop functional, eye-catching packaging designs that resonate with our target market and comply with state health and safety regulations.To ensure success as a Packaging Designer, you should have a good eye for style and in-depth knowledge of packaging regulations. A top-class packaging designer should be able to analyze market trends and create product packaging that is both eye-catching and functional. This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work in the Los Angeles office 1-2 days a week as needed
Responsibilities
- Develop packaging for new product launches while aligning to brand style guide
- Update and maintain current packaging to ensure consistency across all products, flavors, and line extensions
- Oversee physical samples, proofing and press checks to ensure asset quality creation
- Have a keen eye for color and handle all packaging color matching
- Develop 3D renderings to bring packaging and visual merchandising to life
- Communicate and articulate design concepts both visually & verbally including presenting designs to leadership Interface with packaging manufacturers to communicate desired outcomes of creative and lead thoughtful solutions that uphold brand aesthetic
- Create, update, and maintain development tracking, packaging files, and quality standards library
- Collaborate with both Social and Creative teams to design assets outside of packaging as needed
Who You Are
- 5 years graphic design experience including 2+ years packaging design within the CPG space preferred
- Extremely high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience with the full packaging design and development cycle
- Fluency in current graphic design practices and Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong understanding of packaging regulations, materials, and printing/finishing options
- Strong typography, color, layout, and hierarchy as it relates to product packaging
- Capable of quickly revising work based on internal feedback
- Ability to work within and expand upon existing design system
- Ability to work collaboratively and give/receive productive criticism
- This is a hybrid role with the expectation to work in the office 1-2 days a week as needed
- Travel expectation 10%
