Join us at our Soeborg office and become a part of our Coffee & Freeze-Drying team, which is responsible for selling complete or partial instant coffee process lines as well as complete industrial freeze-drying plants for the food industry.
Our operations span the globe, covering Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, and we work closely with our customers to find the right solution for them. Likewise, we collaborate with specialist colleagues across the GEA organization to align customer needs with our offerings.
Before you get settled into the role, we will, of course, ensure you are properly trained in the technologies you will be selling.
Responsibilities / Tasks
As the Head of Sales for Food, you will lead our efforts to establish a strong presence in the freeze-drying market for frozen food, biotech, and pet food. This role is all about driving growth, building relationships, and making an impact in a rapidly evolving industry.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Developing and implementing a global sales strategy that aligns with our corporate objectives while genuinely addressing the needs of our customers.
- Engaging with customers to understand their unique requirements and providing tailored solutions from our innovative freeze-drying equipment portfolio.
- Leading initiatives to ensure we capture significant market share, monitoring trends, and leveraging insights to drive our approach.
- Managing key accounts and negotiating contracts that create win-win scenarios for both our clients and the company.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service and ensure our solutions meet customer expectations.
- Contributing to the overall strategy and operations of the Food & Coffee Business Line, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.
- Fostering a supportive team environment, encouraging professional development, and ensuring your team has the skills to thrive.
In this role, your leadership and dedication will not only help us achieve ambitious sales targets but also shape the future of our company in the food sector. As you will be interacting with international customers, this job will take you travelling up to 60 days per year.
Your Profile / Qualifications
To excel as the Head of Sales for Food, you will need a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic acumen, and interpersonal skills. Your experience in leading complex sales initiatives will be crucial as you navigate the competitive landscape of freeze-drying solutions for the frozen food, biotech, and pet food sectors. You understand the complexities of customer needs and can align them with our innovative product offerings, leveraging your solid business sense.
We imagine you to be an effective communicator and collaborator, capable of building strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, from team members to clients across various cultures. Your experience will help you remain composed in challenging situations, and your adaptability will enable you to thrive within a large international organization.
We Also Imagine That You
- Hold a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Science, or a related field. An additional commercial degree in Business Administration would be a plus.
- Have a deep understanding of process engineering and the food processing industry.
- Possess solid contract negotiation skills, both legal and commercial, with a proven track record in international plant sales.
- Have experience in leading teams and managing people effectively, fostering a culture of development and performance.
- Are self-motivated, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Speak and write English effortlessly.
