We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data-driven solutions that support business decision-making. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and develop intuitive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data lake/warehousing solutions using technologies such as the Snowflake ecosystem or similar.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout the data pipeline.
Dashboard Development:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and support the implementation of custom dashboards using Power BI.
- Support Data Analysts in implementing interactive and dynamic visualizations that provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), key leading indicators (KLI), and metrics.
Reporting and Analytics:
- Develop and maintain data views for reports.
- Design and implement best practices to aggregate and communicate complex data insights effectively.
Data Integration and Mashups:
- Develop mashup reports that combine data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of business performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
- Collaborate with the Global Data IC&D team to ensure seamless integration with existing analytics workflows and drive new integration.
Technical Skills Development:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in data engineering and business intelligence.
- Develop new skills and expertise to support evolving reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, and one or more data-related languages such as R or Python.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent communication in English
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms & solutions.
- Knowledge of chemical industry-specific data standards and regulations.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
