Job Summary:The Supply Chain Assistant will be based at the company’s office(s) in San Diego, CA. This role will work to support pilot plant and R&D lab functions, focusing on basic lab duties, including processing incoming shipments, inventory stocking, and general lab operations support duties. Candidates should have a baseline understanding of how a laboratory functions. Successful candidates will join a high-performance and fast-paced team where everybody’s contribution is equally important. Candidates should be highly motivated, organized, proactive, and have excellent communication skills.
- Essential Responsibilities:Perform daily inspection and re-stocking of workstations
- Inventory maintenance and organization
- Accurately and timely receipt and processing of incoming shipments according to established procedures
- Coordinate and perform material movements of inventory items
- Accurately update electronic systems to reflect material movements
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory space
- Assist in cycle counts and count verifications as required
- Equipment Sanitation, including COP, CIP and sterilization
- Perform other general pilot plant duties as necessary
- Job Supervised (by title):Supply Chain Supervisor
- Travel:Some travel between two facilities within 1 mile radius.
- Minimum Qualifications:Associates Degree, Biotechnology Certificate or B.S. in Biology, Biotechnology, Food Science or equivalent preferred
- Applicants with a B.S. and 0-2 years of industry experience working in a GMP manufacturing facility are preferred
- Adept at time management
- Performs work independently and as part of a team to achieve company goals
- Initiative to solve problems and ability to multitask
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to switch focus as needed to meet company goals
- Works effectively and communicates well in a team environment
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing equipment
- Sense of humor
- Nonessential Qualifications:GLP/GMP/GDP training
- Prior experience working in food manufacturing or an FDA regulated facility
- Local and federal safety regulations such as Cal/OSHA, California EPA, California health and safety code, Chemical safety training, etc.
- Office machinery including computers, printers, copiers, etc.
- Microsoft Office Suite and other computer systems.
- Basic lab equipment maintenance such as pH meters, scales, autoclave
