Position overview:
As Bioprocess Lead, you will lead our bioprocess laboratory, driving the development of scalable production processes. Reporting to the CSO, you will lead Bon Vivant’s core technological efforts, helping us transition from cutting-edge lab results to industry-ready processes and technologies. This is a key position within our growing R&D team, offering you a chance to make a tangible impact on the biotech-food landscape.
Your missions :
Lead and prioritize bioprocess lab activities from cell-bank generation, fermentation and downstream activities, with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding technical performance standards in our production processes.
Design and oversee lab experiments, ensuring robust data collection, equipment maintenance, and optimization of bioprocess technology packages.
Drive troubleshooting and preparation for scaling, including evaluating new strains and enhancing process reliability.
Collaborate with external partners to ensure seamless technology transfer and process scaling readiness, while developing comprehensive process books and technical documentation for external use.
Key responsibilities :
Plan and execute lab trials with an eye toward scale-up, ensuring data precision, robust process development, and a focus on high-performance outcomes.
Lead technical scale-up efforts in collaboration with the Head of Industrialization, ensuring the transition from lab to industry scale meets our quality and operational targets.
Lead and manage a team of scientists and technicians, ensuring efficient execution of experiments, fostering a collaborative environment, providing mentorship, and driving continuous development to meet project goals and performance targets.
Continuously seek to optimize and innovate, setting new benchmarks in process reliability and efficiency.
Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, conducting in-depth data analysis, and troubleshooting for successful technology transfer.
Desired profile:
Advanced degree (Engineer, Master’s, or Ph.D.) in Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Microbiology or a related field.
7+ years of experience in bioprocess development with different microorganisms and a focus on moving from lab-scale development to industrial scale-up.
Expertise in bioprocessing and scaling techniques, with a strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for achieving and surpassing performance standards and a dedication to going the extra mile.
Proficiency in statistical data analysis, scientific documentation, and equipment maintenance.
