Chunk Foods is a foodtech startup that develops, manufactures, and markets plant-based whole cuts that are delicious, nutritious, and kind to the environment. We are currently seeking an experienced Oregon-based foodservice sales manager to join our team. This is a dynamic role with “roll up your sleeve approach”, with a focus on sales to all segments of the Northwest foodservice market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own and manage the sales funnel
Utilize industry relationships to “open doors” with various levels of decision makers at potential customers throughout the territory.
Call on restaurants and hospitality group key stakeholders, managing and maintaining client relationships.
Work with existing distributors and recruit additional distributors and resellers.
Manage and update the sales CRM
Monitor and track key metrics to measure the success of the business
Concurrent with the above functions, take an active role in industry events and associations, building relationships with key opinion leaders and industry experts.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the competition and identify new business opportunities
Work according to the sales strategy with direct customers and distributors to drive business growth
Work closely with the marketing team to support existing clients
Monitor the business activities of competitors and potential competitors, updating management as needed.
Overall, head up the company’s sales activities within the territory creating significant "buzz" in the market, leading to rapid penetration and sales growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
Recent successful experience in a sales or business development role for a manufacturer, distributor, rep agency or broker selling food products to foodservice customers.
Background interfacing with various stakeholders in the foodservice market (brokers, distributors, operators, key opinion leaders, consultants and others).
Network of relationships with relevant operators and distributors in the territory.
Hands-on sales professional, ready to hit the road running.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment

Strong sales skills - ability to open doors with potential customers to establish rapport at all levels within the customers’ organization.
Strong communications skills - able to accurately communicate customer needs to company management.
Comfortable working in a fast moving, entrepreneurial organization.
Ability to provide clear, accurate, and timely written and oral reports.
Experience preparing and presenting customer oriented presentations.
Basic Excel skills
Willingness to travel as needed.
