Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Function as a key member of the accounting team. This person will Lead the fixed asset process, implementing strong processes, systems, and procedures to drive efficiencies and high-quality financial reporting. Function as a business partner with the engineering team and other departments relating to capital expenses.
Manage accurate and timely processing of Fixed Asset Expenditures
- Develop Capital guidelines and procedures, making recommendations for potential adjustments.
- Communicate guidelines and rules.
- Ensure adherence to guidelines and proper controls around approvals and sign offs.
- Meet with departments to assess asset status, risk, goals, and progress.
- Property Tax Reporting.
- Support development of capital budget and forecasts.
- Responsible for coordinating physical inventory of fixed assets.
- Own the asset accounting function and ensure accurate accounting of all Amy’s Kitchen and related entities capital assets through asset life cycle management (requisition, recording, depreciation, tracking/count, and disposition) including intercompany related transactions and elimination.
- This includes continuously applying process improvement methodology and mindset to execute meaningful and measurable improvements to the processes over time.
- Identify and recommend areas to improve process operations.
- Own the Company’s Fixed Asset policy (including capitalization threshold, useful life, classification) and provide guidance/training.
- Conduct research on non-routine/complex asset related matters.
- Collaborate cross functionally with other teams in system and process implementation projects.
- Lead the close activities including preparation and/or review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting related to fixed assets.
- Work with Plants and Engineers to provide ROI on new capital projects and evaluate actual returns once projects are in-service.
- Prepare post implementation financial tracking and analytics.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, including data gathering and analysis.

Qualifications And Skills

E ducation
- A bachelor’s degree from a university with an accounting major.
Experience
- At least 6 years’ experience in a similar position, with food or manufacturing and international operations experience preferred.
Skills
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Proficient in Mid- to Top-Tier Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required. Experience with Oracle a plus.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
- Ability to work with all levels of leadership. Strong organizational, research, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Travel
Travel to Petaluma, California office may be required.
