About the job
The roles and responsibilities of the Commercial Finance Business Partner will include;
Providing weekly and monthly sales and margin analysis, commentaries and KPI summaries.
Supporting the sales forecasting and budgeting processes.
Support tender negotiations by providing key financial insight and support in the form of scenario models.
Build and maintain robust externally facing Customer Cost Models to help identify commercial opportunities, minimise cost inflation pricing risks and to support JBPs.
Carrying out ad hoc analysis required by management in a timely and accurate manner, summarising key findings aimed at senior level.
Business Partnering with the Senior Commercial Team.
Supporting the commercial team as they drive revenue growth and margin improvement through evaluation of business opportunities.
Driving improvement and standardisation in finance and commercial processes to maximise efficiency and quality of KPI reporting.
Evaluate promotional plans and monitor their actual performance.
Support SKU rationalisation.
Providing ‘on-hand’ expertise and support in the use of current reporting systems including Qlik.
Support in monitoring inflation and price recovery through a formal process, making recommendations for the recovery of inflation through price change mechanisms, assisting with arguments to secure increases or to defend existing price.
Carry out ad hoc analysis required by management in a timely and accurate manner, summarising key findings aimed at senior level.
What it takes
Part-Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with at least 2 years relevant experience working in a similar role.
Strong financial modelling skills including use of pivot tables and manipulation of data in Excel.
Structured and organised.
Good Communication skills, comfortable communicating across all levels.
Experience of planning and organising several tasks with the ability to prioritise and cope with conflicting demands and deadlines.
Ability to bring numbers alive through presentations using graphs and tables with clarity and consistency. Able to explain finance to non-financial colleagues.
Demonstrate customer/client facing skills, to command respect and influence at a senior level, debating with confidence, diplomacy, and discretion.
Desirable
Experience within FMCG manufacturing environment.
Experience working with Qlik.
Experience in providing commercial analysis and business evaluation opportunities.
