The Role We are seeking a passionate and innovative Director of Content & Community to lead our content strategy and community engagement efforts. This role will oversee all content development, from ideation to final execution, and will be instrumental in building and nurturing our online community. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional copywriting skills and a deep understanding of social media. Ideally this person would be responsible for making GoodPop's brand persona - your funny & honest best friend - come to life in multiple forms and help us bring our joyful 'Have a Good One' mentality to life. This team member would report directly to the Director of Brand Marketing and would be responsible for managing our Senior Manager of Content & Community. Responsibilities Content Strategy: Drive the content development process, from brainstorming sessions to concept presentations, ensuring that ideas are innovative, on-brand, and aligned with marketing briefs. Demonstrate expertise in digital, social, and other media channels and how creative communications are shifting in the marketplace. Social Channel Building: Set strategy for how we grow our social channels (with particular emphasis on Instagram and TikTok) quickly, organically and relevantly to better reach our core & target consumers. Stay current with emerging platforms in order to have a first mover advantage. Trend Hacking: Stay abreast of trending topics online and organize the team to react and respond when appropriate in an effort to make our brand more culturally relevant and ultimately, top of mind. Includes creating content in real time and engaging creatively with macro influencers including celebrities. Community Management: Foster and manage an engaged online community across social media channels and other platforms including our owned brand ambassador program. Set a strategy for how we engage and interact with our community to build meaningful relationships and strengthen our brand equity. Brand Voice & Messaging: Lend strong copywriting skills to develop cross channel content (front print to digital to social) that aligns with GoodPop's brand archetype and persona in an effort to break through the clutter online and leave lasting impressions with our consumers. Ensure consistency in brand messaging, visual identity, and tone across all assets and customer touchpoints. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of content creators, designers, photographers, social media managers and other creative specialists to work together to implement marketing plans. Collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure content aligns with broader business objectives. Performance Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on content performance metrics and effectiveness. Utilize insights to refine content strategies and enhance interactions. Budget Management: Manage our content creation and influencer relations budgets effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize impact. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field. 8+ years of experience in content creation, copywriting, or community management, with a strong portfolio of work. Proven experience leading a team and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong understanding of social media platforms and community-building strategies. Proficient in analytics tools and software to track performance metrics. Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
