About The Position
You’ll work from our Wageningen Food Science Centre, with State-of-the-Art labs, pilotplant and professional application kitchen. Where innovations are designed and tested, before upscaling into the factory and brought to market.
What will your working day look like as Process designer for dairy alternatives:
Lead the technical deliverables of global design and/or transfer projects in a cross functional team
Product Development: Design the process for the best quality products preferred by consumers and customers.
Design the experiments with a data driven mindset, building on scientific hypothesis. To create the Best ever Products, preferred by consumers and customers
Lead lab and pilot plant trials to test and refine (plant & hybrid) creams formulations.
Test & optimize your product and process design in analysis in the laboratory, (kitchen) applications with chefs, with the sensory panels, consumers and customers.
Collaborate with other product developers, science/material/processing experts and process engineers to conduct experiments and create the data the learn in the smartest way.
Process scale up: lead the scale up of innovations and/or renovations to enable commercial production collaborating with supply chain collegues.
Identify opportunities to improve process in commercial production to improve product quality and/or operation efficiency.
Lead root-cause analysis of production issues within the factories.
You will define and write the specifications of the proven products and processes
Stay abreast of industry trends, scientific advancements, and consumer insights to drive product innovation.
Ensure that product development is done against local preferences and complies with local regulatory requirements and industry standards such as food safety, quality and labelling.
Travel when required, for workshops, supplier visits and scale up trials in the factory

As our creams process designer & technical project leader, you will be part of the creams product design team, reporting into the Product Development Manager.
You will develop products with a global scope.
You will be leading innovation, renovation and cost saving projects. In multidisciplinary teams with colleagues from marketing, sales, supply chain, quality, etc.
You are responsible for delivering the projects on time and within budget
What do we mean by hybrid? Flexible working, to make sure you can do your work effectively. Including lab/pilotplant work on site and travel to factories where needed.
Next to product development, You will contribute to the quality control of laboratory methods and equipment.
This role gives a lot of opportunities to continue developing yourself, both as product developer and as a project leader
So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
You are a team player with a can-do mentality, holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field. You possess relevant work experience as a product developer in creams, dairy, dairy alternatives or similar products, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and in full. Your expertise includes emulsion technology, data process analysis from trials, and data mining on process output parameters. A self-starter, you work independently on trial execution, conduct analysis, and perform product performance tests. You combine product design with technical project leadership, bringing practical creativity to achieve high-quality outcomes. A hands-on individual, you enjoy lab, pilot plant, and factory trials, driven by data. Your role involves global responsibilities, working on multi-country projects and thriving in dynamic environments where adaptability and meeting tight deadlines are crucial. Passionate about creating the best products for consumers and customers, you lead projects to ensure timely market delivery. Embracing a multicultural environment, you are willing to travel abroad for scale-ups in factories.
