About the Role!
Detail any cross-functional or functional permanent team memberships. Upfield is looking for an experienced and hands-on leader who can partner with the existing team to bring this new facility to the next level! This individual must have previous experience in a leadership role, managing plant performance, including commissioning in a complex technical manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Head of Operations –Canada, you will be responsible for directing and supporting all manufacturing activities at the facility to meet and exceed operational goals and objectives in the areas of safety and environmental compliance, quality, and productivity. The plant currently has 120+ energized and loyal employees. Success in this role will include overseeing and managing the next 2 years of planned growth and expansion, including commissioning new product lines.
Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)
This is a leadership role partnering with all factory departments, including Operations, Production,
Safety, Quality, Maintenance and People.
Responsible for developing and deploying Operational Excellence Plans to meet safety, quality and production goals and show continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Create and maintain an environment that fosters high levels of employee engagement.
Ensure through established cadence that operations are running at the highest levels of efficiency.
An Entrepreneurial mindset with a project management approach will lead to success in this role.
Participate and lead daily production meetings offering energy and support and guidance where appropriate to better the overall performance of our people and the plant.
Review and track daily shift reports and KPIs to proactively anticipate future needs.
Using your experience, provide support and coaching to line leads and supervisors.
Manage within established budget commitments, performing regular cost reviews and making improvements to discretionary cost spending.
Partner with the People and Organization team to grow strength within our team, coach our future leaders and where needed, address personnel issues by participating in investigations and recommending corrective actions, as necessary.
Proactively engage with employees at all levels to foster loyalty, appreciation, and sense of accomplishment. We win together!
