MycoWorks is seeking an experienced Sales Manager with a technical background in the leather industry for the promotion of mycelium-based leather alternatives globally. The role entails a blend of sales expertise, technical knowledge in tanning chemistry, and a passion for sustainable materials. The ideal candidate will be a key driver in expanding our reach in the leather alternatives market, combining sales acumen with technical consulting to foster client relationships and market growth.
- Strategically develop and execute sales plans targeting tanneries and related industries for mycelium-based leather alternatives.
- Act as a consultant to clients, advising on the applications and advantages of mycelium materials in various contexts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, offering customized solutions and technical expertise.
- Conduct negotiations and close sales contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with financial guidelines.
- Lead technical discussions on tanning chemistry and mycelium material tanning processes, enhancing client understanding and trust.
- Oversee sales forecasting and performance metrics, setting and achieving ambitious targets.
- Manage and allocate resources for strategic projects, including financial analysis and investment assessments.
- Stay abreast of market trends and advancements in sustainable materials, particularly in the leather industry.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the leather industry, with at least 2 years in a sales management role
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in Leather Technology required, or equivalent experience in technical roles in leather industry
- In-depth knowledge of tanning chemistry and processes.
- Demonstrated ability in sales management, client consultation, and new business development.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interpret technical and financial information effectively.
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving and strategy development.
- Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on mentoring and development.
