DIRECTOR, FINANCE
PLANTA Restaurants is looking for a motivated and experienced Director of Finance. Reporting into the Chief Finance Officer , the Director of Finance is a highly visible role with exposure to senior leadership and a key part of the day to-day-operations of PLANTA restaurants. Your duties include overseeing month close, KPI adherence, budgeting and forecasting, assistance in audit and tax and leading PLANTA Restaurants to financial success. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities. Your goal will be to guide the company towards profitability and success. The ideal candidate is able to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation.
WHAT'S ON YOUR PLATE:
- Champions the brand’s vision and values and contribute to a culture of positivity and high standards where all employees CHASE perfection in everything they do
- Create an environment that is warm, welcoming and filled with positivity for guests and employees
- Uphold PLANTA standards at all times and treat everyone with courtesy and respect
- Provide operations with timely P&L reports and operational analysis for use in managing the business
- Prepares budgets and forecasts with restaurant leadership, data analyst, and CFO
- An highly organized and professional mindset with exceptional accounting and financial statement analysis skills
- Oversee internal controls of finance department consistent with company procedures
- Work directly with CFO on strategic business modeling and cash flow analysis
- Ensure compliance with Canadian and US accounting standards, regulations, internal financial controls and tax reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Assist in the year-end audit and tax process. Review and approve all reconciliations and work papers. Coordinate external consultants, respond to auditor/tax requests.
- Coach and oversee Financial Controller to ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with local GAAP reporting requirements.
- Other finance and administrative duties as required.
INGREDIENTS YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Between 5 - 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance in the hospitality industry
- Fully understand and embody PLANTA’s can-do attitude, demonstrating a level of passion and dedication where no task is beneath you.
- Post-secondary degree or Masters degree
- Good understanding of the tax compliance and regulatory reporting for Canadian and US entities
- Previous experience leading teams
- Highly motivated with strong analytical, planning, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Technologically savvy with an eye for process improvement driven
