We are looking for an experienced
Facilities Operations Manager to report directly to our Head of Operations who:
- Has 6+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology or similar industry
- A working knowledge of FDA and GMP GXP requirements is required
- Is passionate about sustainability and the transition to more sustainable agriculture
- Loves solving hard problems and is tenacious in pursuit of solutions
- A collaborative team player, with a desire to learn and take on new challenges
- Has excellent organizational and attention to detail skills regarding documentation
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with strong independent work capabilities; able to work autonomously without constant supervision or hand-holding
- Able to follow Standard Operating Procedures
- A Bachelor's degree preferably in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Engineering Physical Requirements: Must be able to more than 50lbs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works on assignments that are highly complex in nature in which independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations
- Ensures laboratories and office areas are well maintained, organized for a safe work environment
- Supports the development of safety polices and ensure compliance and training
- Ability to provide world class customer service to all customers
- Independently performs routine and non-routine tasks
- Liaises with and escorts vendors for onsite services
- Creates and maintains detailed and accurate records
- Creates and updates policies and SOPs and ensures compliance with regulations and procedures including FDA/USDA/DOT, etc.
- Updates and maintains data in LabGuru
- Possesses a thorough working knowledge and maintains compliance of GMP, GXP, DOT, IATA, FDA regulations that pertain to the performance of their job duties
- Responsible for participating in laboratory and equipment reconfiguration, set-up, installations and moves with Facilities
- Manages on site lab services such as lab coats, equipment vendors, etc.
Facilities Operations:
- Supporting laboratory operations by managing requests to ensure supply chain for lab supplies are ordered, received, and stocked
- Works closely with lab teams to support fast changing environment, maintain safety, and equipment
- Responsible for lab equipment maintenance, calibration, and installations
- Supports EHS, lab safety, chemical inventory, PPE, lab gases, and lab coats
- Responsible for ensuring common supply areas and equipment room are stocked, maintained, organized and clean
- Responsible for equipment alarm monitoring system and is on call 24/7 for emergencies
- Manages office operations including conference room, kitchen, common areas and ensures they are maintained and supplied
- Manages equipment adds, moves and changes ensuring space, electrical, and utilities available for new equipment
Lab Supply Management:
- Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, and shipping materials and supplies
- Checks goods received, maintains records of received and shipped goods and processes items that do not conform
- Prepares logs and maintains records as required and is trained in DOT & ITATA compliance and documentation related to materials and goods shipped or received

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 DOE (bi-weekly payments)
Location: The San Francisco Bay Area (Emeryville)
Compensation: Competitive salary (bi-weekly payments), stock options (subject to vesting), performance-based bonus, and free lunch every day!
