Job Details:
SUMMARY:
An R&D intern will gain experience in product development by working alongside food scientists in the development of new products and processes for beef, pork, and chicken. Interns will be exposed to the manufacturing process used across Tyson’s family of brands including Hillshire Farms, Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Ball Park, State Fair, amongst many others. Projects will also be assigned to the intern at the beginning of the summer that can provide an immediate impact through cost-saving, quality improvement, profitability, and/or product competitiveness. At the end of the internships, interns will conclude with a brief report and presentation on the results of their project(s). The length of the internship will range from 10-12 weeks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Degree in food or meat science related fields, preferred, but will consider other majors. Must be in good standing; entering Junior or Senior year or pursuing master’s or Doctorate degree, required.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills.
Supervisory Skills: None
* These openings are in Springdale, AR. This is a summer internship and will require approximately 40 working hours per week in-person. Housing will be provided for any chosen candidates that are located outside of a 50-mile radius. *
