Position Summary:
Coperion is looking for a
Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in
Wytheville, VA. As a
Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, recommending, and implementing manufacturing processes and tooling and quality improvements to reduce costs, reduce lead times, satisfy customer expectations, and improve manufacturing productivity.
Work You’ll Do:
- Support the shop floor by collaborating on equipment tooling fixturing requirements, reviewing and documenting suggestions, providing training recommendations, and supporting quality requirements
- Participate in timely resolution of manufacturing problems, driving efforts to constantly reduce set-up time and run time of manufacturing processes
- Evaluate, test, and define tooling standards for CNC-Milling, Turning, Grinding, and other processes
- Recommend equipment changes to affect cost reduction or cost avoidance
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date bills of materials (BOMs) and routings for manufactured products using QAD ERP system
- Other duties may be assigned
Team:
The Manufacturing Engineer will be joining a team of 6, consisting of 2 manufacturing engineers, 2 manufacturing techs, and 2 programmers. The Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering and Order Process.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a focus in mechanical or manufacturing engineering with 2-4+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products
- 3+ years of experience using ERP systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
Preferred Qualifications:
- QAD ERP system experience highly preferred
- Experience using Solidworks, AutoCAD, FeatureCam
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
